getting sidetracked....

well I am now cleaning my son's closet....yuk!!!
and went outside to get some bins out of my storage container and saw this old crib headboard, well, it needed to be painted...really!

painted it old white...

and just sanded away,

wouldn't this look pretty in a patio garden with plants trailing around it?

Have you ever noticed when you get something for "free"....
it really isn't?
lol....
well it started with my parents getting a new TV and my son asking..."what are you going to do with the old one?"...
"nothing, you can have it"
hooray for him!!!!
and projects for me...
here it goes...
first we need something to put it on, I found this dresser for $20.00, added some base molding to the bottom for extra support, $12.00..(see where this free thing is going?)...

got a quart of blue paint, $12.00, and just randomly painted....

then some chalk paint in Graphit $36.00

and painted over all the blue...

but then decided that I should paint his other dresser so it would match...

and now for the sanding, I wanted the under blue to peek thru,

this part was a little scary because see how light it is looking?

I waxed it all with the clear wax and am in the process of putting it in his room,

scary....

little scary last nite!!!

My son and I picked up his tux for formal and I took him to the mall to get some Chinese food, it was pretty empty, we never!! go to the mall in the evening or on weekends, just weird kids there....anyway I asked if he wanted to take it home or just eat there...we decided to eat there, I asked him if he would like to go and check out American Eagle and see whats new...

he says, "no, I am getting a headache" well we are eating and he says, his headache is getting worse and he wants to just take his food home, ok,

home we go...

here is the scary...

there was a shooting in the mall,

if we hadn't left when we did, we would of been right next to the store where the shooting happened!!!

thank GOD for giving him a headache right then!

They think its gang related, of course!

so, a little scared and relieved!!!

ps. after we were home, his headache was gone.

so, I have been super de-hoarding and neglating you,
I have been trying to stay off the computor....sooooo addicting....and getting stuff done, and as I was walking by my wall I thought I would show you some of my purses...

I started collecting these about 20 years ago, when you could find them so cheap...

but if there is a rose, well, I love them too!!!!

its only the 7th....

and I am going crazy!!!!!
well, I have had my space in the shop for twelve years, I was lucky..
rent was $45.00 a month, new vendors pay $55.00 a month for a booth my size, plus 10%, I also have been sharing a booth for $27.50 a month,
well my friend decided not to have the booth anymore, so I thought, why not, I will have two...
so I will be paying $55.00 for the whole booth, one I will keep french and farmhouse, the other shabby and pink,

well, we had a shop meeting this morning and guess what.....the rent is going up....my old booth is now $55.00 plus $20.00 for the outside wall, that is $30 dollars more....eeekkkkk, plus the other booth I decided to take over....will stay at $55.00...
so now instead of paying $100 a month, which I was stressing about, I will now be paying $130...
I am crazy!!!!!
I don't know we will see...just seems hard, I need to just try, but I have a hard time with change...
so I have been painting....

for the shabby booth...

just started moving in...

and strarted rearanging in my old booth...

I am pooped!!! and still have so much to do!!!!

ok, I will stop whining now!

lol!

well another big moment here...
got his drivers license yesterday, so now he can drive himself to school....

oh, I know what you are thinking,,,,

this will be easier on you, he can have more freedom...ect..ect..

but all I see is my baby growing up!!!!!

ok, off to feel sorry for myself!!!!

new love...

oh, I am in LOVE!!!!
I have been searching for a vintage galvanized trash can for the kitchen,
hard to find, and if I found one....too expensive...
soooooo....thanks to my sweet husband,,,(who I have been hounding, to look for one for me)
his boss had this beauty, he was using it for his chicken feed, so all he wanted for it was a rubbermaid one....
well I got the best of that trade....
