gray cabinets and me....

well, you know how I was considering painting my bottom cabinets gray....
well, I just didn't like it, I painted different shades of grey on the back of one of the doors I had removed and stared at it for days!!! and decided it wasn't for me....oh well...
but I wanted to share what I did paint...

but first I have to show you this great bench I found for the table,
I love it, I had it on the other side and really liked it there, but,
my children are related to Big Foot and they kept kicking it..
so to the other side of the table...

love it!!!!

ok, you know how my table is white,
and it was needing the top painted, just getting yukkie...and some one,
don't know who???? (whoops...Me)
got glitter on it...

so I decided to paint the top...

so out with the chalk paint in Paris Gray...

painted the top only...

and then sanded and sanded and sanded,
I swear I could of been on Survivor, felt like I was starting a fire...
there was some serious heat coming from that sandpaper...

waxed it after sanding...

I am really happy with it!!!
so I got a liitle gray that I had been wanting.
and will just paint the bottom cabinets white.

  5. The best part of painting the tabletop with a weathered finish is that the next "oops" should blend right in. It's good you took a few days to think about the cabinet colors. It will save you from hating it later, right?

  10. That was so smart to pull the gray onto the table, it looks great! Isn't it funny how sometimes you have something in your brain that just doesn't work the way you planned, and then you end up with something even better! Great bench too!

  19. Do you think the chalk paint is better than regular paint? I wonder if it is worth the cost?
