one finished...

I have one cupboard finished...

all painted,
I really love the beadboard wallpaper...
a little thing I do with the wallpaper is to go around the perimeter with a bead of white caulking, just to seal it.

put my new plates in...

this is where all the plates were originally, easy for the kids,
looks like I need some more glasses.
I think I am going to like this, we will see,
lol, another idea might get into my head..
off to paint the next section.

ps. it is easier for me to have just dishes, I am lucky enough to have a pantry that is a disaster...lol

  4. Now, if I did that to my cabinets all my spices and crap would show! Only one cupboard would look ok and that would be my plate cabinet! Yours looks great!

  5. Don't you love decorating the cabinets with all of your "stuff" when you are done painting?

I, too bought white clearance dishes a few years ago from Penneys. When I washed them the first time, a few had flaws that let water seep in under the glaze. I had my mother exchange them when she was shopping in that town. The clerk said, "Well, what does she expect for that price?!" Good customer service. :@
BTW the dishes are holding up nicely.

  6. WOW!!

    This looks fantastic!!
I wish I had enough cabinets to take the doors off some and do this to but I have a really small Kitchen and space is quite limited.
    Have a great weekend!!

    Hugs,
    Debbie

  15. Just love the look! So fresh and pretty with your dishes and glassware.

Seven years ago I had hubby remove all the doors off the upper cabinets in the kitchen..he did this with trepidation, haha,...we have a turn of the century craftsman cottage that is a work in progress and most likely always will be. The kitchen was a hideous mess and we did not have much of a budget. The cupboards are fresh white now, like yours, and I have pretty dishes, like you, and it looks wonderful and not only does it open up the small kitchen, I get such pleasure looking at all I have....if you look way back on my blog you will see pictures of what I did....I am a check freak so my walls are a combination of white bead board and blue and white checks.....not very today, but very Jil. I think it is very cottage...I took the doors off under the sink, which is new, and made a very full skirt of blue toile.....now the floors need to be addressed...lol!
Enjoy your new look, it is wonderful!
