White Wednesday...

Last Friday the sun was out for the day, so we hurried and finished priming...
the wood on the outside just sucked the paint right up...

inside the larger room...

inside the smaller room...

loving all the shelves...

we primered the floors and walls, and it still didn't cover this wood, this wood was 1/2 cost of everything else, but I will have to use more paint. I thought I would like the white look, but I like color to much...

so I think I will put this up in the larger room, I have 6 rolls of this, I have had it for eight years, why, who knows! I think its a little to colorful for what I want so I am going to experiment and see if I can white wash it, to tone it down and make it look older. I am so anxious to work out there but we have had rain since Saturday, and it looks like the rest of the week. Have a wonderful Wednesday, and go by and visit our host at Faded Charm for more gorgeous whites.

  4. Stephanie,
Your little house is coming right along.
It will be interesting to see if you can tone down the wallpaper. I've never tried that.
Can't wait to see how it looks.

Also, thank you so much for posting my giveaway on your blog. You are so sweet.
    And I hope you win.

  8. How exciting! The fun part is putting it altogether!!

Make a big pot of coffee/tea (probably would need several, LOL) and then dip your paint brush in it and antique away!!

  11. I'm jealous! I'VE Always wanted a cute little house like that. I worked in a wallpaper store for about eight years, and you should be able to tone that wallpaper down with no problem. Experiment on a small piece with either a white or a light mocha colored glaze depending on the color that you want to end up with. Ralph Lauren used to make a glaze especially for wallpaper. You might check Home Depot.

  12. Yep, I checked and I AM still green with envy! I actually wanted to wallpaper something so I could age it! I've seen Ralph Lauren wallpaper finishes in the past, I don't know if they're still around or not. He had white and tobacco and several others......the tobacco was actually my favorite...not the yellow, stinking stuff you'd think of........quite antique-y actually!

Can't wait.........then can you just go right on ahead and ship the whole thing to ME?

  16. The little stinker--I asked her who cut her hair and she said Jesus did.
We were running around from room to room. Over several night--always when she was tired and not wanting to go to bed, she kept saying she didn't like her hair, she didn't like long hair... but in the morning she would talk about how much she loved it and didn't want to cut it and her Daddy liked it long (every time she would say she wanted to cut it, he would tell her how much he liked it long.) She has been allowed to play with scissors, cutting paper--until NOW. Her Dad was in the kitchen and she was on the other side of the bar going to town on her hair.
