progress and new dishes...

I have been wanting new dishes for awhile, but being cheap, oops, I mean frugal, I have been shopping for awhile...

I wanted white and had fallen in love with some from JC Penny's...

but they were $99.99 for a 20pc set,
to much...

they went on sale for $59.99, but I can wait...
$39.99, getting better...

went back and looked in the clearance...

and they were $19.99 and I had a coupon,
if you spent $100 you get $20 off,
so I bought five sets for $80
not bad for 120pcs...

here is the progess I have done on the open cabinets...

I removed the doors and filled in the holes from the hinges,
and added some beadboard wallpaper...

I am going to do one shelf at a time, so I can put the dishes back in...
I can't believe how much bigger it looks!

I am joining these parties...

  2. What a DEAL on your new dishes - excellent!
I have issues with dishes (as in I have enough to serve the entire state, lol) Matching, unmatched, small sets, large sets. Oh my.
The only thing that slows me is that they must be obtained (as you said, lol) at a frugal price! Otherwise it spoils the fun of it lol
So three cheers for your new sets and I can easily imagine how lovely they are going to look in your open cupboards. What fun.....

Glad you liked the molding on my mirror...I couldn't believe how much difference it made in such a short time. The whole thing took about two hours...that's including installing and the painting too! :) woo hoo!

  16. White dishes are the best! While I'm deciding what to do with my darling burlap bag you gave me, I used it to make my pantry look cool {because I just reorganized everything.} If you want to see it, pop over for a look:
