well, another first...
my son is driving to the beach today with friends....aghhhhhh, he is eighteen, I have to be brave and just have faith...
funny how we change when we become moms, when I was that age, I drove all over, thought I was so grown up, but,
when its your child, they still seem like babies to us!
so, I am trying to stay busy today...

I found this manniquin on Ebay, no one bid, so mine for $24.00!
she is made of foam and came with a cover, so I tea dyed it and used the Citra-sov method and transfered some pretties...

I want to put her in my booth and pin my soldered charms to her...

her dress is alittle short,
I think I will glue some vintage lace to the bottom.
She didn't come with a stand, I will be on the look out for something...
any suggestions?

  1. I used a antique floor lamp for the base of mine. just used a pipe cutter to take the top off and it worked great!

  3. Yep...a base from a antique floor lamp. Or even a coat rack. Great buy. Did you name her yet...she has to have a name!

  4. Ooo, the antique floor lamp sounds wonderful! And maybe a soft tutu at the bottom. What a fab find!

I know what you mean about having your kids drive to the beach for the first time. It's scary. We're only about 25 minutes away but it's over the mountain and my daughter was 18 too. But I had to remember that I did it when I was 16 and couldn't understand at all why my mother was a nervous wreck! I think we suffer growing pains at every age.

  5. My "kids" are in their early 40's & I still hate to see them on road-trips. My hubby's Grandma always said that the worries never go away , they just get bigger!!
