new love...

oh, I am in LOVE!!!!
I have been searching for a vintage galvanized trash can for the kitchen,
hard to find, and if I found one....too expensive...
soooooo....thanks to my sweet husband,,,(who I have been hounding, to look for one for me)
his boss had this beauty, he was using it for his chicken feed, so all he wanted for it was a rubbermaid one....
well I got the best of that trade....

washed and drying in the sun!!!
seriously, I am in LOVE!!!!!

  1. Love your galvanized can--ain't it so--how we get excited over metal and rust? I just recently bought a HUGE old farm galvanized mail box--my husband was with me and just shook his head. What? but, there are those who do understand! Love your treasure.

  4. Love your trash can. I have a little galvanized bucket that I picked up somewhere...it has paint drippings on the side, which I'm planning to try to remove, and then use it for storage.

  6. Very sweet...We have an old one I desperately want to...ummm...well I am not sure, but it is old and rusty and hubby needs to get all the trash he put in it when cleaning out the old barn...also where the can came from...so I can find a new use for it :)

  14. Rust and beauty, the men probably just shake their heads and think to themselves they will never understand us. Can you imagine 10-20 years ago your hubby coming home with that trash can? lol as a gift????? lol
